In addition to the launch of the Xeon-5500
series for the server market, Intel has put out five new mobile Core 2 and
Celeron processors to refresh its current small form factor performance
roadmap.
At the top of the list in the
power-optimized performance segment is the Core 2 Duo SP9600 2.53GHz, equipped
with 6MB of L2 cache, a 1066MHz FSB, 25w TDP and a $316 wholesale price. This
will serve as the successor to the SP9400 2.40GHz for at least the next two
quarters of the year.
Next up is the low voltage version of
this CPU, known as the Core 2 Duo LV SL9600 2.13 GHz which features the same
pricing and specification. As for the ultra-low voltage segment, there is the Core
2 Duo LV SU9600 1.60GHz, equipped with 3MB of L2 cache, an 800MHz FSB, 10w TDP
and a $289 wholesale price. This will serve as the successor to the SU9400
1.40GHz for at least the next two quarters of the year. Expect
both of these CPUs to be present in some new upcoming trim and slim notebooks.
In the single-core ultra-low voltage segment is the
new Core 2 Solo SU3500 1.40GHz, equipped with 3MB of L2 cache, an 800MHz FSB,
5.5w TDP and a $262 wholesale price. This will serve as the successor to the
SU3300 1.20GHz for at least the next two quarters. Last but not least is the Celeron
Mobile 900 2.20GHz, equipped with 1MB of L2 cache, an 800MHz FSB and a $70
wholesale price.
