Reports to MI5

The British government is setting up a new agency whose aim will be to combat "Chinese cyber spies and other threats".

The agency will be called the National Protective Security Agency (NPSA) and will report directly to MI5.

The news was announced by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who explained that the NPSA is part of the government's effort to revamp its security strategy known as the "Integrated Review".

While there might not be much Pussy Galore, there will be a ton of cash allocated. Under this review, the country's Conflict, Stability and Security Fund will be replaced by an Integrated Security Fund, with a budget of $1.22 billion.

The funds will be used to "achieve the core objectives of the Integrated Review at home and around the world, including economic and cyber security, counter-terrorism and human rights"

Among other things, the NPSA will educate businesses, schools and non-profit organisations on the importance of cyber security and advise them on how to improve their cyber security.
