Qualcomm has tapped former Intel exec Anand Chandrasekher as its new chief marketing officer. Chandrasekher will oversee Qualcomm’s global marketing efforts and report to COO Steve Mollenkopf, PC Mag reports.

Chandrasekher spent 25 years at intel and his experience stretches back to the 486 days. Later he oversaw Intel’s cheap and cheerful Atom series chips and served as general manager of Intel’s Ultra Mobile Group.

Analysts believe Chandrasekher was brought in to help Qualcomm gain a foothold in PC and server markets, the holy grail of ARM chips.
