The move follows media reports about the fake stores which surfaced last week, thanks to blogger BirdAbroad. The blog showed some of the stores, which looked like a rather decent effort to knock off Apple’s original store concept. It appears even the staff was blissfully unaware that they were in fact working for unlicensed stores. They actually believed they were Apple workers.
Interestingly, the two stores were shut down because they were lacking proper licenses. Apparently there are still three more “Apple” stores in the city.
Apple has just four genuine stores in China, in Beijing and Shanghai.
