The bug, flagged by serial tipster Ice Universe, reportedly hit South Korean S24 users hardest. But rather than risk a wider faceplant, Samsung pulled the plug on the global rollout across all models, including the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6.
The update, meant to usher in Android 15 and fresh AI gimmickry, started hitting devices on 7 April, with the US patch dropping three days later. But that’s now history—CheckFirm scans show the latest firmware version has vanished from Samsung’s servers and has been replaced by older builds.
Some users have already got the update, but Samsung has been silent about what's next. There's no official confirmation, timeline, or hotfix—just a PR tumbleweed and many stuck lock screens.
To add insult to injury, the update was already late. Android 15 landed with developers seven months ago, and the S25 series launched running it two months ago. Older phones had been waiting, only to find that the update stopped them from using their phones.
Samsung hasn’t responded to requests for comment, and no patch has been issued yet for those already on the buggy build.
