Cosmic Watch, which is available for both iPhone, iPads and Android, is a really neat app that lets you view our solar system in real time, and in a number of different ways.

The Swiss app uses your location on your device to put you at the heart of our solar system and also lets you locate any place on the planet to show you the local time, using a 3D display of the planet Earth.

You can also view the position of the Sun, the Moon and the planets from either a geocentric or solar-centric point of view, and detect solar eclipses.

The app can also show the position of the Sun, Moon and the planets in relation to the tropical zodiac. You can also choose to use the sidereal Zodiac, which is  used in Hindu astrology.

This is a really neat app if you’re interested in time and space - and who of us isn’t?
