In this quarter many marker research
companies believe that the OEMs will sell more notebooks than
desktops and by 2010 the same people expect that there will be more
notebooks that desktops and this would really mean the end of an era.
As notebooks are talking more and more
market share, the chip, chipset and graphics manufacturers are
allocating more people and resources into this area. This is why Intel
wants to have good graphics in notebooks and with 45 or even 32
nanometre it will be able to create graphics that
won't dissipate much heat.
Heat is a very big enemy of notebooks and chips in general and it still a big problem that is usually solved with expensive and heavy copper heat pipes.
