For the time being Intel wants Nvidia
to stick around. It got SLI for its Scull trail platform and for now
it is just about enough to keep Nvidia happy.
Intel will put two quad core Harpertown CPUs in a server motherboard powered with FB DIMM memory
and will cleat the fastest SLI environment and as Nvidia is
definitely faster than ATI, it will stick with Nvidia's Geforce 8800
GTX/Ultra cards before moving to the next generation.
Intel ultimately wants SLI for all of its chipsets and until Intel catches up on the high end graphics it will be friendly with Nvdia, just as much as it needs to.
