It was fun to see Stoakley motherboard powered with AMD's / ATIs chip taking care of the graphics. Intel still needs to use third party chips for its servers as it doesn't have and IGP server chipset, nor does such a chipset make much sense.

Since AMD acquired ATI, Intel only supports Crossfire as they don't have SLI and seeing this chips on the latest server technology proves that Intel doesn't have much choice than to use ATI for its server station.

This chip shows 2D picture and that is its only purpose. The 16 memory slots and two sockets can tell you that this machine is capable of some serious computing. With 2GB modules this machine can take care of 32GB memory while with 8GB modules it would theoretically be able to have 128GB memory.

Isn't that just nice. ATI's chip is next to the memory slots.
