14,000 Story: Paper-ish launch

It would seem that AMD is determined to get these CPUs out sooner than later, as they’ve hurried the “launch” of its six-core Istanbul processor by as much as five months.

Unfortunately, it seems to be a somewhat "paperish" launch as the OEMs shouldn’t have them in their offers until probably later this month. Furthermore, the HE, SE and EE version should find their way to the market in 2H 2009.

Additionally, the press release goes on about general features and virtually no details and since we’ve already heard performance-increase claims as well as the consumption efficiency, we will not get excited until we've seen them in action.

UPDATE: We've kindly been informed that the availability is not an issue as HP offers six systems with this CPU and one is to follow sometime in July. HP's DL585 G6 system for instance can already be purchased here.
