In Q3

We were
quite surprised to see that AMD promises a Phenom II X4 945 at 95W TDP (Thermal Design Power). The Phenom II X4 945 in AM3 socket has a TDP of 125W and we still don't know how AMD is planning on making the future version at 95W.

After having a look at the future B95 CPU, we learned that this new Phenom II X4 B95 for business can make it at 95W at 3GHz clock, so we are probably talking about the same core. We suspect a new revision of the CPU and AMD will continue to make Deneb in 45nm process, but somehow it can drop the TDP, probably as it will use a more mature process.

The samples of the 95W Phenom II X4 945 are expected in Q3 while the production is scheduled for the same quarter. If all goes well, you will be able to buy it in the same quarter.

This might be a good news for overclockers and for the people who care about the environment, as you will need less cooling power to cool such a CPU. However we don't think that this will be a black edition, at least that is not the plan today.
