It seems like things are looking up for AMD, as Digitimes reports that demand for AMD's desktop CPUs, Phenom II X3 700 and X4 920 included, is rising. Such developments have caused motherboard manufacturers to predict AMD's global desktop CPU share to go up to 30% in Q2. We do believe that this number is a bit over the top as AMD traditionally has around 20 percent of CPU market but it might be the fact that it has a bit more desktop market then other.
AMD, together with its subsidiary Globalfoundries, has been stirring a lot of dust lately, but that's not the only thing company has in store for this year, as it finally seems like AMD is shaping up on all fronts.
Additionally, the sources from the industry report the company is planning to launch its Pisces platform before September, and it seems as if the company wants the entry-level desktop market all to itself.
