It looks like Atom N270 is the only single core notebook Atom CPU to be launched in 2008. Intel's current roadmap shows that the small Netbook category won’t get many changes after its Q2 2008 launch. When we say netbook, we actually mean Asus Eee 900 and MSI Wind PC small notebook category.
In Q2 2008, Intel plans to launch its first of many Atom CPUs branded N270. This CPU works at 1.6GHz, at FSB 533MHz and has 512KB of cache. It is interesting to note that the Atom N270 CPU supports two threads.
The Calistoga notebook chipset for this platform is also known as 945GSE. The graphics in this chipset work at a modest 133MHz, and the chipset supports FSB533 and DDR2 533 or 400MHz memory.
The 945GSE interconnects with ICH7M. According to Intel's current plan this will remain Intel’s only Netbook offering until Q1 2009 and in Q2 2009 it should be replaced with a new one.
