Chipmaker AMD is to provide OpenSUSE with a new powerful infrastructure upon which the openSUSE Build Service (OBS) can be run.
In a press release, AMD revealed how it has been sponsoring the OBS by providing hardware and development expertise.
Terri Hall, AMD vice president of Commercial Systems Marketing said that the company recognises the value of the open source development model. He said that by providing hardware for the openSUSE Build Service, it was actively participating in the continued innovation.
There are more than 700 projects and 20,000 software packages based around the the openSUSE Build Service.
