Possible other devices as well

HTC has set a date for its next event where the company is expected to unveil the U12+ smartphone and probably some other smartphones as well.

In a rather innovative looking invite, which shows a bunch of components scattered around, HTC wants to make sure that it follows its earlier teaser saying that its upcoming device is a "phone that is more than the sum of its specs". Some suggest that those are components from Apple's iPhone 6, which is a rather bold move from HTC.

Earlier rumors suggest that the HTC U12+ will have a Snapdragon 845 SoC with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, up to 128GB of storage and more. It will also come with a 5.5-inch QHD screen and a decent 3,420mAh battery. It should also have IP68 certification, making it both water and dust resistant, Qi wireless charging and Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4+ technology.

There is also a dual rear main camera with a main 12-megapixel sensor with UltraPixel 4 and secondary 16-megapixel sensor as well as a dual front camera with two 8-megapixel sensors.

Earlier reports also suggest the Edge Sense 2 technology, a new version of HTC's squeezable sides technology so it will be good to see how far can HTC push this feature.

The biggest surprise is the fact that HTC is one of the rare smartphone makers that will stick to a standard design and won't have a notch but rather a standard top bezel.

In any case, we will know for sure on May 23rd, and it is possible that HTC might unveil another smartphone as well, the rumored HTC U12 Life.
