In an apparent bid to launch a new Galaxy phone every single week of the year, Samsung has just announced the Galaxy Grand.
It basically looks like an oversized Galaxy SIII with a 5-inch screen, but it’s not a powerhouse like most 5-inch superphones out there. In fact, it features a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, much like the old Galaxy SII and the 5-inch screen is in fact a WVGA unit rather than a 720p or 1080p panel.
It has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, along with a microSD slot. The Grand boasts an 8-megapixel camera and a 2-megapixel front facing snapper. It will be available in dual-SIM and single-SIM options, but there is still no word on pricing. Judging by the spec, it should end up as one of the cheaper 5-inch devices on the market.
