According to recent shots of what appears to be a new smartphone, ZTE might be joining the "world's thinnest" smartphone crowd.

The new smartphone is codenamed Athena and should end up to be a mere 6.2mm thick. If rumours are to be believed, it could feature a 720p IPS screen, dual-core Cortex-A15 CPU, 64GB of storage space and ZTE's own Miflavor Android UI on top of Ice Scream Sandwich 4.0 OS.

Unfortunately, there are still no precise details and those blurry shots are all we have for now. Of course, we'll keep an eye out for this one.
