Today, Ericcson announced the M700, the first fully operational LTE platform for mobile phones and devices. This platform supports a whole spectrum of working frequencies, including 700MHz.

The Ericcson team expects the first devices using LTE connections to be laptop cards as well as wireless modems. As far as power consumption goes, this platform will be similar to 3G systems.

This platform will enable download speeds up to 100Mbps and upload up to 50 Mbps. It should be in use by the end of the year.
