Intel has won a contract to install its mobile WiMax
chips in the new Nokia Internet tablets which will go on sale next
year. According to Reuters, Intel has had little success in the mobile
phone chip market and ended up selling its cellular chip unit to Marvell
last year.
Wi-Fi is another matter and Intel's success in the area
was a big factor in the widespread adoption of that technology. It is
the first time that Nokia will make mobile devices using Intel chips.
