Phone manufacturer Nokia has announced a
new Internet services brand name called Ovi.
Ovi, which means “door” in Finnish, is
supposed to be the phone company's entry into the iTunes style
market.
Nokia is predicting that the market for
mobile phones that will play music and games will grow by 50 percent
to 120 million units this year. Ovi can be accessed via your PC or
compatible Nokia handsets.
In Europe, Nokia wants to sell tracks
individually at EUR 1.00 and complete albums will go for EUR 10.00. A
monthly subscription service that allows PC streaming will also run
EUR 10.00.
