We told you about the new FireGL driver that is suppose to increase the performance of the FireGL time for a few times.

Our sources independent from ATI have confirmed that the driver is real and it still haven’t made it to a final stage, but shows a lot of performance. Mainstream V5600 card can challenge even the high end Quadro FX cards.

We don’t have the exact numbers but a few independent sources have confirmed that the numbers for ATI’s mainstream card are way better than anyone expected.

Sources close to ATI have confirmed the existence of the new driver and they could not hide the excitement. It looks like FireGL is getting back in the game.
