G78 will have its DirectX 10 replacement. We wrote about this chip last week here.
Nvidia is working hard
to introduce its latest chip called G98 which should be a DirectX 10 version of
the entry level card, probably cheaper than $60.
We still don’t know the
size of the chip but we suspect that it might be 65 nanometre but we know that
it supports DirectX 10 and has a new Video processor called VP3.
The current G78 has VP1
and is DirectX 9 capable. G98 is expected in the middle of the year so we
expect to see it before the beginning of Q3.
