The latest report coming from Nordic Hardware site puts the launch date for Nvidia's upcoming GTX 1070 Ti on October 26th (Thursday), which lines up with Nvidia's previous launching scheme, bringing new product announcement on either Tuesday or Thursday.

The site also says that earlier rumors were spot on, suggesting that the GTX 1070 Ti will be based on the same GP104 GPU as the GTX 1080/1070, but with a single disabled cluster, leaving it with a total of 2432 CUDA cores. Earlier rumors also suggested that it will be working on 1607MHz base and a 1683MHz GPU Boost clocks, as well as pack 8GB of 8.0GHz clocked GDDR5 memory on a 256-bit memory interface.

The GTX 1070 Ti could also end up with a 180W TDP, just like the GTX 1080 and offer similar performance, at least for those games that do not depend on the memory bandwidth.

The use of GDDR5 memory would also make the GTX 1070 Ti perfect for miners, which is not great news if you have been waiting for it to launch as both price and availability could suffer.

Speaking of price, some sites suggest that it could launch at US $399, which is kinda far stretched, considering that it is close to GTX 1080. Currently, the cheapest GTX 1070 goes for around US $410 and you can find the GTX 1080 for around US $500-510, which leaves a US $100 gap between those two so our best guess is that we will see a price closer to US $450 than the US $400.
