As detailed earlier, AMD's Radeon R9 Nano is a 6-inch long mini-ITX graphics card that packs quite a punch, due to its fully enabled Fiji GPU with 4096 Stream Processors, 256 TMUs, 64 ROPs, as well as a 4GB of High Bandwidth Memory paired up with a 4096-bit memory interface. Due to a much smaller PCB and in order to meet the 175W TDP, AMD had to lower the GPU clock down to 1000MHz and place a 4+2-phase VRM powered by a single 8-pin PCI-Express power connector.

Although we expected it be lower, AMD also kept the same, hefty, US $649.99 price for the Radeon R9 Nano. Being the fastest mini-ITX graphics card on the market, the Radeon R9 Nano easily beats any mini-ITX Geforce graphics card, including the GTX 970, and should be faster than the GTX 980 in some scenarios.

AMD also equipped the Radeon R9 Nano with a special dual vapor chamber cooler with single center placed fan which cools both the main heatsink and dedicated VRM heatsink. The cooler is topped by an aluminum shroud.

Unfortunately, such price puts the R9 Nano in strange market position, making it suitable for those that are looking to make a high-performance SFF mini-ITX gaming rig and do not care about the budget.

The new AMD RAdeon R9 Nano should be available on September 10th when we expect plenty of reviews to show up.
