A bug in Windows 11 is slowing down AMD’s Ryzen processors during PC gaming sessions, with Ryzen 9000 processors faring slightly worse in some cases.

Beats expectations with record revenue in the Data Center segment

AMD has officially announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2024, reporting a revenue of $5.8 billion with a gross margin of 49 percent. AMD managed to beat expectations, with up to 9 percent higher revenue and 3 points higher gross margin, compared to the last year. The clear winner was its Data Center segment, reporting an increase of 115 percent, driven by AMD Instinct GPU and 4th gen EPYC CPU sales.

Leaked benchmarks appear to clean Chipzilla’s clock

Leaked benchmarks for the upcoming AMD Ryzen 9 9900X have surfaced, showcasing the Zen 5 CPU’s single and multicore prowess, and it should be something that Chipzilla should be worried about.

With Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 370 and Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360 SKUs

AMD is gearing up to launch its next-generation Ryzen AI PRO 300 Strix APU lineup in October, and the series will include two SKUs, the Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 370 and the Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360.

Ryzen 7 8700G drops to $270

AMD's Ryzen 8000G series got a decent price drop recently, making them quite a catch in case you want to stick with a Phoenix-based APU with up to eight Zen 4 cores and 12 RDNA3 Compute Units (CUs). Although it is currently limited to a single retailer/e-tailer, it is possible that the promotion will extend to other stores.

Launch price lower than Ryzen 7000 series 

As we inch closer to the expected August availability date, first retailers/e-tailers have started listing AMD's upcoming Ryzen 9000 series desktop CPUs.

Asus has now officially confirmed that the AMD Ryzen AI 300 will launch to the market on July 15th, with the company being one of the first OEMs to have laptops on the market.

Computex 2024: Keeping the 8-year-old socket alive

In addition to the new Zen parts and the Ryzen 9000 series processors, AMD has also announced two new Zen 3 Ryzen 5000 SKUs for the now 8-year-old socket AM4, the Ryzen 9 5900XT and the Ryzen 7 5800XT, both launching next month.

A larger battery, standard M.2 slot, and fixed microSD slot  

The Asus ROG Ally X handheld console is set to be unveiled on June 2, and the fresh report from a well-known Asus leaker suggests that Asus is also squeezing a bit more RAM in the new ROG Ally X, equipping it with 24GB.

Priced at $269 and $169

AMD has officially launched two new Ryzen 8000 series SKUs, the Ryzen 7 8700F and the Ryzen 5 8400F. Based on the earlier released 8000-series APUs, these two Ryzen F-series SKUs come with disabled integrated graphics and the same 65W TDP.
