MSI offically announces its own gaming handheld called the Claw at CES 2024

by on10 January 2024

With up to Intel Core Ultra 155H CPU

As rumored earlier, MSI has unveiled its new MSI Claw gaming held powered by Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU, claiming the world's first gaming handheld with such a CPU.

The MSI Claw looks a lot like some recently introduced gaming handhelds as there is simply not much room for innovation in that segment, and if something is working well, it does not need to be changed. You get a standard controller layout and a 7-inch 1920x1080 touchscreen running at 120Hz.

According to provided information, MSI will have a couple of SKUs and will use both the Core Ultra 5 135H and Core Ultra 7 155H CPUs, and probably different storage options, peaking at up to 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. It will have 16GB of LPDDR5 memory, run on Windows 11, have all the usual connectivity options, and a 53 WHr battery.

The MSI Claw should do pretty well in gaming, especially if Intel further tweaks the driver performance and tunes that XeSS upscaling.

MSI is targeting the $699 to $799 price range for the Claw and it should launch in late February or early March.
