Developer DarkSeas Games had announced two stretch goals, the first of which was an Xbox Live Arcade port of the game if funding could reach $178K, and Oculus Rift Support if funding could reach the $198K level.
So far, DarkSeas has confirmed that the total amount raised was $182,791, which included PayPal pledges, in addition to the $173,803 that was raised on Kickstarter. This means that Road Redemption will be released for the PC, Mac, Linux, Wii U, and on Xbox Live Arcade.
We have to admit that it didn’t look very good to actually see this game funded at points during the Kickstarter, but it happened; and we think that this next generation Road Rash-like game with its next generation graphics, physics, and online play will be very popular if it executes and delivers on what the developers have promised.
The release schedule will see the game released in August next year, with a beta due late this year for supporters at the higher funding levels.
