Rovio has reported that it has doubled its revenue from a year ago. The company is up to $195.6 million in revenue, which is up $25 million over last year. What has changed? Well, the company has leveraged its Angry Birds franchise to the point where its toys are now responsible for a whopping 45% of Rovio’s revenue.

While the company has new franchise on the software front, including Bad Piggies and Amazing Alex, its consumer products have also been hitting it out of the park for the company. The company has already seen Angry Birds Toons that arrived in March; and Rovio is working on an Angry Birds movie that it is self- funding to develop outside the traditional film studio system.
