High Moon studios has let approximately 40 full time employees go, as the developer of the current Deadpool title works to align its future costs and revenues. The studio, under the Activision banner, has stated that the reductions are as a result of the completion of the Deadpool title as it winds down toward release.

It is unknown what is next for High Moon studios going forward. Of course, many rumors have suggested that High Moon really needs Deadpool to be successful and maybe even a big hit. The company’s prior Transformers title (despite being well done and receiving very good reviews) didn’t do as well at the cash registers as High Moon or Activision would have liked. Both have very high hopes for the Deadpool title.
