Duke Nukem fan-made trailer emerges
Well, movies take "4ever" to make
What has probably been one of the longest running jokes in the industry has now been revived as a fan-made trailer, looking to become a movie. Yes, we’re talking about the Duke Nukem saga, which can easily be called a saga in real life as well, what with all the we’re-almost-theres and when-its-dones we’ve heard ever since it was announced in 1997.
We were just about to get cracking on our arsenal of jokes, but alas, a quick review of 3DRealms’ site confirmed that we shouldn’t bother. The site reads:”And yes, we know the game has taken a long time. There's no possible joke you could make about the game's development time that we haven't already heard. :)”. Well, as one smart man once said, why does it have to be a joke? How about a riddle? Come to think of it, you can’t put a living riddle into a linguistic riddle, so we’ll just drop it.
The trailer, which shows a “babe” running away from the mighty Pig-Cop was developed by a Finnish studio HMC. We’re not sure whether these guys will ever manage to actually the movie, especially knowing that a similar situation with Zelda fan-made movie was drawn to a close by Nintendo’s orders. Still, it’s a nice and easy to digest trailer, which still features the original Megadeth soundtrack – so a great one to get your hopes up in the 2010. And be sure to check out the ending - classic Duke indeed.
