MSI shows its new BigBang
Cebit 2010: XPower based on X58 chipset
MSI has showed yet another motherboard that will be a part of MSI's Big Bang series, the Big Bang Xpower.
Unlike the Big Bang Trinergy or the Lucid Hydra equipped Fuzion, this one is based on the X58 chipset. Like the rest of the Big Bang series it also targets overclockers and enthusiasts and will also include USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps support. As you can see from the picture below it features a total of six PCI-Express x16 slots and needs two 8-pin power connectors in order to provide enough juice for extreme overclocking.
This will also be the first motherboard that features a new memory locking system with a single latch located only on the top side while the bottom one is fixed. It supports LGA 1366 CPUs and features a 16-phase VRM.
