Santa Rosa much beefier than Napa
New graphics and WiFi
Intel's successor to the Napa notebook platform is set to be a lot heavier than its previous efforts.
According to reports from the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing the successor to the Napa notebook platform, Santa Rosa, will have a spec that Napa users would dream of.
Almost every part of the Napa spec, including graphics and WiFi has been upgraded. It will come with Intel Turbo Memory, which is a flash-based disc-caching system that speeds up loading times of frequently-used data.
While it is still a continuation of the old Centrino's one Santa Rosa variant, Pro, will have many of the business features found on Intel's Q-series chipsets, namely vPro.'
It will be based around Core2 mobile processors with 45nm 'Penryn' CPUs arriving in 2008.
