Intel prepares a new dual and quad core platform for 2008. Intel Core2 Quad & Duo processors are today part of the Salt Creek platform. This platform is powered by the Intel P35 & G33 Express Chipsets and Intel Gigabit LAN.

Salt Creek also supports G35 and G31 express chipset. In Q1 2008 this platform will get Yorkfield Quad core and Wolfdale Dual core support.

But the real Yorkfield Quad core and Wolfdale Dual core comes in Q2 and it's called Boulder Creek. The new platform needs the Eaglelake Chipset Family, Intel Gigabit LAN and has as an optional feature Intel Turbo Memory.
