Early results put it below Apple's A12 SoC

With the first smartphone announced with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8150 SoC, it was just a matter of time before we see some leaks in the usual benchmark databases.

Compared to Cortex A75 Spectint

ARM has shared part of the Always connected PC roadmap that is currently only executed by Qualcomm Snapdragon, and also showed some expected performance projections of the 7nm and 5nm parts.

Brand new chip with bigger GPU

There is a lot of right and wrong information floating around the web about the successor to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 850 and we wanted to set things straight in the face of misleading information. To our knowledge, the new always connected PC chip may not end up branded the SCX8180, but something simpler. And, secondly,  it is not a faster 855 overlocked, it is a brand new chip.

A significant step forward in Geekbench 4

The press usually relies too much on benchmarks but they at least tell you that a subject A is better or worse than subject B. The recently posted GeekBench of Snapdragon 855 shows that the new 7nm SoC from Qualcomm scores much better than its predecessor.

Snapdragon Takes Aim at 5G with 7nm SoC

Qualcomm just sent out the official press release saying it has started sampling its next generation mobile platform for consumers in 7nm. This 7nm platform can be paired with Snapdragon X50 5G modem creating the first 5G capable mobile platform for premium tier smartphones and other mobile devices.

The Snapdragon 600 series has over 1450 designs and Qualcomm believes that the 660 has already been a success. Welcome, then, to te Snapdragon 670 that brings update to AI, performance, camera and multimedia.

The chap known as Mr Mobile has shared with the world that Qualcomm might be showing off a new watch platform on September 10 and most likely this will be brand-new Snapdragon wear that hasn’t been upgraded since 2016.

Slightly outperforms Galaxy S9+

Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are expected in early October and there's little surprise that they will be powered by Snapdragon 845. The XL version of the phone has visited Geekbench, revealing the score and some basic specs.

199M Snapdragons in Q3 FY2018

Qualcomm has announced its financial Q3 2018 results and the company ended up with $5.6 billion of revenue, at the top end of its $4.8 – $5.6 billian guidance. Non-GAAP diluted EPS was expected at $0.65 - $0.75 and in reality it ended up at $1.01.

Smaller and more affordable Mi A2 Lite in tow

Just as rumored earlier, Xiaomi has now unveiled its successor to the Mi A1 Android One smartphone, the aluminum unibody 5.99-inch Mi A2, which comes with some rather impressive specifications and a very affordable price. It also announced an even more affordable but less capable Mi A2 Lite version, which could be interesting to some buyers as well.
