GeekBench 4 single score with the Cortex A76 variant packed into Qualcomm Kyro next generation core now scores 3697 in single 10469 in the multi-core score. This is a healthy 14 percent better performance in the multi-core and a much more significant 35 percent increase in the single-core benchmark score.
35 percent faster single core
The Snapdragon 845 scores around 2400 in single and around 9000 in multi-core, depending on the OEM phone implementation. The OnePlus 5T with Snapdragon 835 scores 1980 in single- and 6730 in the multi-core benchmark.
The Apple A11 still leads the benchmark with 4300 in the single score with the huge chance that a 7nm A12 will end up even faster. Bear in mind that the Apple SoC measures 87.66 mm2 and doesn’t have a modem while the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with X20 LTE modem measures 90 mm2.
Apple 7nm is shortly out
A11 Bionic serves one purpose, it powers iPhones, while Qualcomm, on the other hand, with its Snapdragon 845 has more than 100 different design wins and needs to please them all with both performance and price ratio. iPhone has a separate modem chip, you should know that by now, and in 2018 it's been ntel only.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 sounds like a decent SoC and it is easy to expect the phones launching in early 2019, just after the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in 2019.
