Lenovo’s mainstream IdeaPad Flex 15D hybrid is about to get a new processor, courtesy of AMD.
The refreshed IdeaPad Flex 2 15D is already available in two AMD flavours, powered by the E1-2100 or A4-5000, but a new SKU is based on the A6-6310, a Beema part.
The 15D is an odd beast. Lenovo calls it a dual-mode notebook, as you can swivel the screen by 300 degrees and the device in ‘stand mode’.
It is relatively affordable, too. The A4-5000 version with HD 8570 1GB graphics, 4GB of RAM, 1366x768 touchscreen and 500GB hard drive is priced at €449. We still don’t have a price for the new Beema version, but it should end up quite a bit pricier and here is why – it ships with a 256GB SSD.
The rest of the spec is more or less unchanged. It weighs slightly over 2kg and it features b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0 and a few more or less standard goodies.
