Xiaomi’s first tablet went on sale over the weekend and the Chinese company says it received more than 50,000 orders in just four minutes.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad is a relatively powerful tablet, with an Nvidia Tegra K1 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz and 2GB of RAM. It has a 2048x1356 8-inch display, an 8-megapixel camera and between 16GB and 64GB of storage.
At about $240 for the 16GB unit, the Mi Pad offers exceptional value, but there is a catch. You still can’t get one in Europe on North America. Hopefully this will change soon enough, as Xiaomi is planning to go global over the next few quarters.
