CES 2009 is unlike any other Consumer Electronic Show we've seen before. If my math is good, this should be my fifth CES and I can definitely tell you that this year’s show looks deserted compared to the last year's.
There are no taxi cues, the city attendance at total, according to many taxi drivers and locals, is down by at least 30 percent. The bars looks deserted and you can get some rooms in cheap hotels on a strip even for under $100 a night for a double room.
Most of the companies have suites in hotels nearby, as this saves them a lot of money, but generally some people have canceled their attendance due to budget cuts.
