Zotac announced its latest addition to the Geforce 8 series, the Zotac 8400GS. The card is the cheapest DirectX 10 model that we will see from Nvidia. Zotac will offer two versions of the card, a low profile card with fan cooling, and a full size card that will come with a passive cooling solution.
The ZOTAC GeForce 8400 GS is clocked at 450MHz for the core and 800MHz for 128 or 256MB of GDDR2 memory. The downside is that it will only use a 64 bit memory interface. As we seen on Zotac's 8500 cards, the passively cooled Zotac 8400GS will also come with additional SPDIF cable so you can make the most out of the bundled DVI-HDMI adapter. Unfortunately the low profile card is left without S/PDIF and DVI-HDMI adapter. Both cards will come with DVI, VGA and HDTV-Out.
The ZOTAC GeForce 8400 GS is now shipping through e-tailers and retailers at a suggested price of $59USD/€55 or $69USD/€59 for the passive solution.
