E-gaming stadiums ready to roll

by on10 October 2018

Money money money

It's an edgy business but a senior analyst predicted to his clients today that the future of e-gaming stadiums will be huge.

There are not only large margins to be made for resellers specialising in networking and infrastructure, but also for the gaming hardware section, which, said Steve Brazier, at market research outfit Canalys said today in rainy Barcelona.

He also said that practically every city in the world will see e-stadiums opening and that will have repercussions for the industry generally.

That means bigger margins for the major players in the hardware gaming space and vendors that have made sure of their position in that market will see their influence grow exponentially.

Brazier also said that AMD is set to have its best quarter in over a decade and that's largely down to Intel failing to supply the right kind and quantity of microprocessors.

He said the big vendors are increasingly using AMD chips although we'll put that question to some of the biggies like Dell and Lenovo later on today.
