A senior official at Facebook made an unreserved apology for the bug that affected millions of people between the 18th and 22nd of May, overriding individuals' privacy settings.
Once Facebook had realised it had messed up, it took it five days for its software engineers to fix the bug.
And if you're one of the unlucky 14 million people affected, you will get a message on your Facebook feed suggesting you take a close look at any stuff you may have posted during that period.
Facebook has received a big dollop of criticism during 2018 and earlier this week a report suggested that young people were abandoning the platform in droves, leaving their dads, mums, and grandparents to potentially get themselves in a very fine mess indeed.
