The White House Office of Administration is not required to turn over records about a trove of possibly missing e-mails.

U.S. District Court Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly said that the White House Office of Administration is not bound by the Freedom of Information Act, which would require them to hand over the controversial emails. Millions of emails relating to the lead up to the war in Iraq have gone
missing, apparently because of network errors.

Of course, many people think the inconvenient emails were simply deleted, something that has been denied by the White House. The watchdog organization Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington had sued under FOIA. The group expressed disappointment in the ruling and said it is appealing the decision.
