Spammer pays $100,000
But made $20 million a year
Facebook spammers Adscend Media were laughing all the way to the bank after they were slapped with a wet postage stamp as a punishing for their dodgy facebook antics. The Washington State Attorney General's office reached a settlement with the spammer which baited and spammed Facebook users with salacious content.
Adscend Media, an affiliate marketing company, and managers Jeremy Bash and Fehzan Ali agreed not to spam Facebook users and pay US$100,000 in court and attorney fees, according to the settlement. Adscend Media did not admit liability but had to pay a fine of $100,000. Given that it made about $20 million a year the $100,000 is nothing.
