Interest in iPad still dwarfs Android, other platforms

95% of potential tablet buyers want to join the sect
The survey covered 1,114 people, 95 percent of whom said they would choose the iPad ahead of any other tablet. However, it is worth noting that more than 98 percent of participants live in the US, a market known for its love of Apple gear.
Participants were allowed to pick multiple tablets, hence some 10 percent said they were interested in the HP ToucPad, while just over 8 percent said they were looking into Samsung’s Tab 10.1 or Motorola Xoom. Four percent would consider RIM’s Playbook, while Asus and Acer ranked at the bottom, with just 2.1 percent and 0.8 percent of consumers interested in the Eee Pad and Iconia tablets.
The survey also found that 83 percent of tablet owners still plan to buy new PCs in addition to their tablets.
