Review:
Baseus 65W GaN Charger 2 PRO Quick Charge 4.0 3.0 Type C PD USB Charger

This is a long-term review of the Baseus 65W GaN 2 PRO charger. I have used it for quite some time and always performed well. It can charge multiple devices simultaneously, including a notebook, phone, headphones, watch, or earbuds. It is often the only charger needed for daily use.

The Baseus charger has a maximum output power of 65W, and its GaN component makes it very compact. GaN stands for Gallium nitride, a material used in semiconductors for chargers, making them smaller than before.

What's in the box

The box includes a charger with an EU power plug, two USB Type-C, and one Type-A port. There is also a blue LED that indicates the charger is working. Our version came in black, but a white version is also available. In addition to the charger, there is a Baseus 65W capable USB Type C to C cable.

The charger measures 107x32x36mm, making it very compact compared to many others on the market. For perspective, it is roughly half as wide as the original Apple MacBook Air charger, making it very portable and compact.

The maximum output power is 65W via the Type-C connector. The Baseus 65W GaN Charger supports Power Delivery 2.0 and 3.0 with a maximum output of 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/3.25A 65W. This applies to both USB Type-C ports.

The USB Type-A port supports a maximum of 60W in 4.5V/5A, 5V/4.5A, 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 20V/3A 60W Max combinations, depending on the device being charged.

Charging two devices simultaneously using the Type-C 1 and Type-C 2 ports will result in a total of 45W+18W or 63W. Using the Type-C 1 and USB port results in the same total charging power of 45W+18W.

When using all three ports together, the first Type-C port will charge at 45W while the other two ports will share 15W.

The charger is powerful enough to charge a MacBook Air with an M1/M2 processor, an HP Spectre x360 14 inch with a Core i7 1355 Raptor Lake Gen 13 processor, and an Asus Zenbook 14 OLED 3405 powered by a Gen 14 Core Ultra 155 processor. It also supports Samsung's 45W charging speed. Baseus claims it can charge a MacBook Pro 13 in two hours, but we did not test this.

The charger works well with the iPhone 13 Pro or 15 Pro and charges them quickly, as well as multiple Android-based phones, including the Xiaomi 13. In the case of iPhones, it will charge them faster than the original charger. Thanks to Baseus's cooling technology and the GaN2 Pro technology, the device never became significantly hot during charging.

Conclusion

The Baseus 65W GaN Charger 2 PRO is a great deal at its current price of under 30 Euros. It does what it is supposed to, and since most phones no longer come with a charger, it will do a great job for most users. If someone needs more power, there is a 100W version available, but it is not as compact as this one.

The strong points of this device are that it can charge multiple devices at once and that it has a very compact size.
