XFX HD 4890 Black Edition Overclocked 1GHz card has just arrived in our lab and we pounced on the chance to do some preliminary testing, and share it with our readers. For those who haven’t heard about this card before, we’ll say that it’s the first 1GHz card ever and ATI’s RV790 is the one to go down in history books as the first graphics ticker that made it to 1GHz. Of course, we’ll have more details for you in our full review to come.
Radeon HD 4890 Overclocked comes in nice little packaging that proudly bears the sign Overlocked, and we liked the fact that the game HAWX is shipped with this card.
Below you’ll find a photo of this card with dual slot cooling, the same one used by reference HD 4890 models.
GPUZ confirms that the card runs at 1GHz and the memory at 4GHz (GDDR5 of course).
XFX’s results are 11% better compared to Sapphire’s Radeon HD 4890 running at reference 850MHz.
