Q2 2018 with Snapdragon 845

It was confirmed a while ago by OnePlus' CEO that the successor to the OnePlus 5T will come in Q2 2018 powered by Snapdragon 845. The first leaked images suggest that the phone might come with an iPhone like notch.

OxygenOS 5.0.2 OTA

OnePlus 5T is probably the most prominent phone launched at the back end of 2017, powered by Snapdragon 835. Now the phone has got its first official Android 8.0 based OxygenOS 5.0.2 OTA.

OnePlus still phones home

In October 2017, a researcher caught OnePlus silently collecting all sorts of data from its users. That created a bit of a stink and OnePlus promised it would not happen. But it seems there's still a OnePlus app that can grab data from the phone and send it to servers in China without a user's knowledge or consent.

Customers turned over

OnePlus says it's investigating claims of credit card numbers being stolen from customers who have purchased a phone from OnePlus' site.

OnePlus 5 to get discontinued

OnePlus' newest flagship has now officially started selling, launching in the US, most of Europe and in India. The earlier version, OnePlus 5, will go the way of the dodo as soon as it sells out.

6-inch 18:9 OLED screen and new dual rear camera

At its dedicated "A New View" event held today, OnePlus showed off its new OnePlus 5T smartphone, designed around a 6.01-inch AMOLED screen, new dual rear camera and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 SoC.

Full root privileges done dirt cheap.

OnePlus has announced that the portion of Engineer Mode that provided a backdoor to the phone will be removed in an upcoming update.

Available on November 21

OnePlus has sent out official invites confirming that the OnePlus 5T will be officially launched on November 16th in New York at 11 AM and be available directly from OnePlus and other partners from November 21st.

Limited edition with fashion designer signature

As expected and rumored earlier, OnePlus has now officially unveiled the limited edition version of the OnePlus 5 flagship smartphone at a special event in Paris, which was developed in collaboration with fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, called the OnePlus 5 JCC+.

Possibly a new color option

OnePlus has sent out invites for its event that will be held on September 19th in Paris, where the company is expected to unveil a new, special edition, of the OnePlus 5 smartphone.
