The leaked APU could be the rumored 6-core Ryzen AI 5 340, which is expected to debut alongside the 8-core Ryzen AI 7 350. The APU was tested on a new laptop from ASUS which uses an AMD reference board. The APU features a 3+3 CPU core configuration, with three Zen 5 and three Zen 5C cores, as well as the AMD XDNA2 NPU, seen with Strix Point APUs and delivering 50 TOPS.
The rumored 8-core Ryzen AI 7 350 could pack a similar configuration with four Zen 5 and four Zen 5C cores, as well as a more powerful 860M GPU with 8 CUs, while the Ryzen AI 5 340 could end up with 840M GPU with 4 CUs.
As pointed out by Videocardz.com, AMD already officially confirmed that the Krackan will launch in early 2025, so we expect it to show up at the CES 2025 show in January.
