Samsung launches 990 EVO Plus SSD

In 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacity and peaking at 7,250/6,300MB/s

Samsung has officially launched its new 990 EVO Plus SSD, promising an enhancement of up to 50 percent compared to the previous generation and using the latest 8th generation V-NAND in combination with a 5nm controller.

Coming in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB versions, the Samsung 990 EVO Plus SSD uses Samsung's latest 3-bit TLC NAND, combined with an in-house 5nm controller. The 990 EVO Plus features standard M.2 2280 form-factor and PCIe 5.0 x2 NVMe interface.

Performance-wise, the new 990 EVO Plus peaks at up to 7,250MB/s read and 6,300MB/s write sequential performance, with random 4K read and write performance of up to 1,050K and 1,400K IOPS, respectively. It has an endurance rating of up to 2,400TBW, comes bundled with Samsung's own Magician Software, and is backed up by a 5-year warranty.

The 990 EVO Plus will be available to consumers worldwide at a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $109.99 for the 1 TB model, $184.99 for the 2 TB model, and $344.99 for the 4 TB model.
