Reportedly at the CES 2025 show

It appears that AMD's mainstream B850 and B840 chipset motherboards might not launch together with the X870 and X870E chipset motherboards, but, according to the latest report, these should be coming early next year, around CES 2025 show.

While motherboard makers are announcing their upcoming X870 and X870E motherboards, mainstream versions based on B850 and B840 chipset might not be coming before early next year, at least according to the report from Computerbase.de. The B850 and B840 motherboards, as the successor of the B650(E) chipset motherboards, should be quite popular due to their price, despite the fact these will lack USB 4 support and have optional PCIe Gen 5 support for graphics. AMD aims the B850 chipset at mainstream overclocking, while the B840, limited to PCIe Gen 3, is aimed at entry-level segments.

Either the B850(E) is still not ready, or AMD simply wants to focus on X870(E) chipset motherboards.
